First Baptist Church - Muskogee

A huge renovation went into this historic church!

First Baptist Pastor Johnny Derouen said the 94-year-old sanctuary had not been renovated since 1990. He said the carpet and painting needed to be updated.

The church replaced wood pews with padded, auditorium-style seats. Sanctuary doors into the entrance were replaced with bigger glass and bigger doors.

The sanctuary will retain its historic character, including the stained glass window behind the baptistry, he said.
